Introduction EPSON Total Disc Maker is software that creates disc content and designs labels for the EPSON PP-100, EPSON PP-100N, or EPSON PP-100AP, which can burn and label CDs and DVDs. On EPSON Total Disc Maker, burning and labeling a disc using the EPSON PP-100 is referred to as "publishing." Publishing is performed in the following three steps: (1) Creating Discs Edit data to write on CDs/DVDs. (2) Creating Labels Edit data to print on the label surface of CDs/DVDs. (3) Publishing Discs Write data and print labels. 2. Product Summary The following shows the software to be released and the main features. (1) EPSON Total Disc Maker Edits data to write on the discs and to print on the disc label, and publishes the discs. (2) EPSON Total Disc Setup Configures the EPSON PP-100, EPSON PP-100N, or EPSON PP-100AP initial settings. (3) EPSON Total Disc Monitor Controls the job and displays the information such as the current status of the job and the EPSON PP-100, EPSON PP-100N, or EPSON PP-100AP. (4) EPSON Total Disc Control Service Controls the EPSON PP-100 or EPSON PP-100AP to create the discs. (5) EPSON PP-100/PP-100N/PP-100AP Printer Driver Creates data to print on label surface of the discs and performs the printer setting of the EPSON PP-100, EPSON PP-100N, or EPSON PP-100AP, and the maintenance of the product. (6) EPSON Total Disc Net Administrator Configures the PP-100N operation settings, manages the job history, and updates the user information. 3. Supported Models The supported models are as follows: EPSON PP-100 EPSON PP-100N EPSON PP-100AP 5. Installing/Uninstalling See User's Guide for details. 6. How to Use See User's Guide or the application online help for details. 7. Restrictions (1) Please be sure to install EPSON Total Disc Maker with administrator privileges. Otherwise, the following error message will be displayed. "This installation is forbidden by system policy. Contact your system administrator." (2) If you have the software in zip format, please make sure to unzip it before executing the installer. Otherwise (e.g. If you double-click on it to open it), the installation will not be completed correctly. *To unzip the package in Windows 2000, decompression software will be needed. (3) If you are upgrading to version 2.50 of the EPSON Total Disc Maker, some of the previous registry options may conflict with version 2.50. In order to alleviate potential issues, please reset the registry information in the EPSON Total Disc Setup. (4) If you are upgrading to version 2.50 of the EPSON Total Disc Maker, the status of connection or device in EPSON Total Disc Setup or Total Disc Monitor may not be displayed correctly. In this case, restart Windows. (5) A disc or disc image file created with EPSON Total Disc Maker version 1.01 or earlier may produce some noise. The relevant discs and files are as follows: - Audio CD disc or disc image file - Music & Data CD disc or disc image file If you make a copy using such disc or disc image file, the copied version may also contain some noise. To avoid this, please make sure to create a new disc or disc image file with the 1.50 version or later, and then duplicate it. (6) In Windows Vista or later, if you enter surrogate pair characters in the label edit area, the application may work incorrectly depending on the selected font. To use surrogate pair characters, please make sure to select a font that supports them. (7) For EPSON PP-100 or EPSON PP-100AP printer driver, please do not change the default setting ("Spool print documents so program finishes printing faster") to" Print Directly to the printer", at the Advanced tab in Properties. Doing so may prevent the paused jobs form resuming (For example, when the disc or ink cover is opened during the publishing process). (8) In order to downgrade the version of EPSON Total Disc Maker, please make sure to uninstall the currently installed version before installing an earlier version. If installed incorrectly, please make sure to uninstall EPSON Total Disc Maker using the "Add or Remove Programs" list in Windows Control Panel. (9) In Windows Vista, if the USB cable or AC power cable is unplugged and the communication with PP-100 or PP-100AP is disconnected during the publishing process, it may not be recovered even after the cable is connected to the device again. In this case, restart Windows. (10) If you select characters that include 0x80 codes and above for Code128, they cannot be read by a barcode reader that does not support FNC4. (11) If no data changes or deletions have been made but the following message is displayed, there may be defects on the disc. In this case, check the recording surface of the disc. "The write data was changed, so the operation was canceled." (12) In Windows Vista or later, please do not set the working folder in the Program Files folder or Windows folder. Doing so will prevent discs from being published. (13) In Windows Vista or later, if you log off or shut down Windows when jobs are still being registered, some of the jobs may not be deleted. In this case, the jobs remaining after login of Windows may be published. (14) When EPSON Total Disc Maker can not be removed or modified through "Add or Remove Programs" in Windows Control Panel, please insert the install CD into your PC and execute setup.exe to delete it. (15) If you choose to print through EPSON Total Disc Maker from another application using font sizes from 72 to 79pt and enter specific multibyte characters, the result may not be printed correctly. (16) Error: "The job information was invalid, so the job was canceled. The disc being published and still incomplete was output to Stacker 4." If this error occurs in the EPSON Total Disc Monitor during publishing, please change the publish mode within the publisher section of the EPSON Total Disc Setup. 8. Note for TD Bridge users To use the TD Bridge, install TD Bridge version 2.50. Please update TD Bridge if you are using a version lower than 2.50. * EPSON Total Disc Maker version 2.50 only supports TD Bridge version 2.50 or higher. 9. Included Bug Fixes since earlier version (1) Increased compatibility of DVD-video discs with DVD players. (2) Memory leak during long publishing operations which lowered device performance on Windows XP and Windows Vista.
